Author Martha LaGuardia-Kotite will be signing copies of her new release My Name is Old Glory!

On Saturday, May 5th, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Martha LaGuardia-Kotite will be signing copies of her new release My Name is Old Glory at the store.

The book takes the poem by WW11 and Korean Marine vet Howard Schnauber and blends it with timeless images - from a civil rights march to 9/11 - that capture the glory embodied in our national treasure.  Interlaced throughout with fascinating historical anecdotes and personal reflections about what Old Glory means to Americans of all ages, this is the quintessential tribute to 200 years of the red, white, and blue.

Ms. LaGuardia-Kotite is a Captain (select) in the United States Coast Guard Reserve and has served with distinction, earning many personal awards during her 22 years of duty.  As a spokesperson for the Coast Guard in 2010 she served as Press Secretary for Admiral Thad Allen (USCG ret.) the Commandant and National Incident Commander for the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.  A freelance writer and award-winning author, her work has appeared in top-tier publications and newspapers.  She lives on the Emerald Coast of Florida with her husband and two sons.

A portion of the author’s proceeds from the sale of these books are donated to help veterans.
